Survivor Deadpool
A fantasy-style game based on CBS' Survivor

Players make weekly picks about the action on Survivor. Points are scored for correct predictions, with bonus points awarded based on the number of people in the Deadpool who made the same choices.

We programmed the system, which uses MySQL and Perl to store and calculate user scores from week to week, in a total design-and-implementation time of one week. Also created templates which the site utilized to allow front-and-back end to work independently of each other, which was important in such a short time frame when changes were being made from minute to minute on both fronts.

The site was rated A- in Entertainment Weekly. The parody of the Survivor logo, which we also designed, got us in trouble with CBS.

iTurf.com
Web hub

Developed an online wishlist for iTurf's commerce properties. Worked with in-house designers and DBA to create a system that was generalized enough to be used on any of the company's sites. The wishlist was built using Embedded Perl and interfaced with Oracle. Also wrote software to analyze a number of different sales patterns of the company's clothing products.

We take care of all technical aspects of the company's operations from maintaining servers that serve discussion lists to backend programming of the various dynamic portions of the company's web site to maintenance of said web site. We are also currently in the process of redesigning the front end of the Lauan website.

Lead software developer for Boston-based streaming media startup. Responsible for everything from purchasing decisions for streaming software product to company IT including the maintenance of the company's intranet Linux server to developing the company's demo and providing technical support on sales calls. Worked closely with the company's founders and CTO on the development of all aspects of the business.
